Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands, it measures 60 mls long and up to 37 mls wide and is dominated by a central mountain range topped with the 12,000-ft Pico del Teide.

Popular resorts in the south of the island are Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos which offer sandy beaches, shops and plenty of nightlife. The south also enjoys the sunniest weather providing a warm climate all year round.

Tenerife has plenty to see and do around the island with some wonderful sights. A trip to Mount Tiede, takes you through windy mountain roads, once there you can take a cable car to the top where the views are outstanding. The North of the island you will find the resort of Puerto del La Cruz, which is full of historic buildings and a selection of shops and pavement cafes.
