Brittany
For many UK visitors Brittany is the gateway to France and often a family villa holiday here starts a process of purchasing a villa, gite or holiday home in the lovely Breton countryside. Brittany has it all. A rugged Atlantic coastline and lovely sandy beaches around Finistere and Morbihan. Elsewhere, the Brittany coastline is known for its dramatic cliffs which soar over the ocean at Goëlo and at Cap Fréhel in the Côtes d?Armor. From Douarnenez to the Pointe du Raz the cliffs dominate the coastline, but further along at the Quiberon Peninsula or the Concarneau coast these are interspersed with coves and sandy beaches. The climate in Brittany is actually quite temperate, with little change in temperature between the seasons, and with enough rain to keep the countryside beautifully green but with bright clear days of sunshine as well, expecially near the coast. Whether in a gite, villa, apartment of village townhouse, Brittany has a wealth of culture, charm peace and character for a special holiday or short break.
