Agios Nikolaos - Elounda

This pretty fishing port has plenty of tavernas and cafes around a picturesque harbour with lively bars and town discos for fun-filled nights. ?Ag. Nik? faces the ?bottomless? lake (as legend has it) and closeby, there are small, sandy beaches with watersports in season. Along a stunning coastline facing the Gulf of Mirabello is more serene Elounda. Tavernas around the harbour retain their typical charm with fresh fish a speciality and from a headland beyond, there are superb views of the fortress island of Spinalonga. In the other direction, the coast road reaches the traditional resort of Kalo Chorio, set between the sea and the mountains.
