On the south west coast of Cyprus approximately 20-25 minutes transfer from Paphos Airport. This diverse resort hosts many cultural sights and historic monuments. Once the ancient capital, Paphos Old Town enjoys distant views over the seaside tourist area from a hillside setting 3 kilometres inland. Amongst the maze of winding streets, there is a weekly market and local tavernas serve tasty specialities (try the generous Cypriot Meze, for a selection of numerous small dishes to share) or you can opt for international dishes from the wide choice on offer. The busy resort area has a lively seaside promenade with the medieval castle guarding the picturesque harbour. Fresh fish is the order of the day here, served simply grilled with a crisp salad. Many of the quayside restaurants have first floor dining areas with outdoor terraces overlooking the harbour. From here and on the promenade below many enjoy a spot of  ?people-watching' over drink or two. For the energetic, there is vibrant nightlife along the tourist streets as bars and clubs come alive until the early hours or simply relax in one of the many cafes.
