Just north of the beautiful old capital of Ciutadella on Menorca's western fringes, Cal?n Blanes is part of an amalgamation of three resorts, including Cal?n Forcat and Cal?n Bruch. More relaxed than its busier neighbours, but still with a wide variety of amenities, Cal?n Blanes jewel is its delightful beach, set back in a sheltered cove and with its own pretty palm grove behind. Cal?n Bruch also has a small beach, although if you have a car then there are many more unspoilt beaches within half an hour along the north coast. Back in Cal?n Blanes, entertainments include every type of watersport, including a diving centre nearby. This is a good choice for families, with plenty of places to eat out, many of which offer children?s menus. Nightlife is varied, with music bars and restaurants forming the majority here, although the Los Delfines area of Cal?n Forcat is much livelier. About an hour?s drive from the airport and Mahon, the rest of Menorca is easily accessible by car, and there are regular buses to Ciutadella which is well worth a visit with its ancient buildings and harbourfront restaurants.
