Felanitx has the reputation of being one of the best-kept towns in Mallorca, close to Porto Colom on the coast, right in the heart of one of the major wine producing areas. It is also the centre of the blue tile manufacturing industry and the major growing area for Mallorca's green capers. For centuries a centre of wine bottling, the town is also renowned for its ceramics. The pottery workshops are open to the public.
