Fornells
A very picturesque fishing village situated on the north coast of Menorca. Set at the head of a long and sheltered inlet, it is particularly suitable for sailing and windsurfing. Fishing boats jostle in the small palm fringed harbour around which are gathered the many cafes and sea food restaurants for which Fornells is justly noted. Look out for the Es Pla at the water's edge where King Juan Carlos is known to sail to sample Calderata de Langosta, a delicious casserole made with lobster. Marvellous cove beaches such as those at Pregunda and Binimel-La abound in the north. Most are just a short drive from Fornells although, for the intrepid, some entail a cliff top walk! Our accommodation is in the development of Playa de Fornells, two kilometres from the village centre. Set amidst landscaped gardens it overlooks a wide inlet and is close to the glorious, long sandy beach of Cala Tirant. There are some small bars, restaurants and shops with more in the harbour area itself.
