Just half an hour from Nice airport and close to the border with Italy, Menton is a beautiful town famed for its array of wonderful sub tropical gardens, one of which, the Val Rahmeh garden, is an offshoot of the UK Natural History Museum. Events in Menton during the year include the Festival of Music, held each year since 1958 in August. Perhaps larger than this is the uniqeu Lemon Festival, which has been held since the early 20th Century and is one of the most important events on the whole of the Cote d'Azur. Held for two weeks over late February and early March, teh event transfroms the town into a riot of colur, and attracts up to 200,000 visitors each year.
