The peaceful village of Nazaret, just ten minutes inland from Costa Teguise is a wonderful way of escaping to the "real' Lanzarote. Often referred to as Oasis de Nazaret, the village commands lovely views over the surrounding terrain. Geographically it is perfectly placed practically in the centre of the island and therefore everywhere is within easy reacch. In fact the longest beach on Lanzarote - Famara - is just fifteen minutes drive away. Nazaret is well knwon for its famous restaurant Lagomar, which was designed as a home for the actor Omar Sharif by the most famous son of Lanzarote, the incomparable artist and architect Cesar Manrique. Today the restaurant serves fine food and there is also a Cave Bar which holds cultural events and jazz concerts.
