The small resort of Punta Prima is the found on the extreme South Eastern point of Menorca It is approached either from Mahon through Sant Lluis and due south, or from the West along the coast road which joins the settlements between here and Binidali. The beach of fine white sand, which was one of the first to be awarded a blue flag award is about 100 metres wide, and is enclosed between 2 low headlands. An ancient watchtower on the western headland the Torre des Ganxo, meaning hook is today surrounded by villas and apartments. Ample supermarkets serve the apartments, bars and restaurants proliferate and three are on the beach. For relaxation there are umbrellas and sunbeds for hire. Several sporting facilities are also on offer - windsurfing, sailing and pedalos. Mini golf and tennis are also available nearby, and although there isn't much to do here it is extremely convenient for Mahon and S'algar. Also very close to the airport for those who don't like long transfers. The resort of Punta Prima, is a good choice for familys and couples, the beach is large and therefore doesnt get terribly crowded even in the summer months.
