Santanyi
Situated in a quiet area of the south-east coast, Cala Santanyi remains truly unspoilt. Just a few apartment buildings and a couple of hotels line the rocky outcrops of this sheltered inlet with its deep, sandy beach backing on to pinewoods. It is near to the protected nature reserve and beaches of Cala Mondrago and to Cala Figuera, a pretty fishing village set in a natural harbour just along the coast. A couple of kilometres inland lies the market town of Santanyi. Steeped in history dating from the medieval period, its huge Church dominates the narrow winding streets and the pretty little market square where the obvious pastime is to sit with a coffee and watch the world go by.
